Microbeads are tiny particles of plastic that are added to thousands of personal care cosmetic products sold around the world. These microbead plastics, hardly visible to the naked eye, flow straight from the bathroom drain into the sewer system. Wastewater treatment plants are not designed to filter out microbeads and that is the main reason why they contribute to the Plastic Soup swirling around the world’s oceans. Sea animals absorb or eat microplastic beads mistaking them for plankton and the microbeads get passed along the marine food chain.

This really depends on how thirsty your skin is and remember that can vary according to your environment, the weather, your hormones, sickness and lots of other factors - at Kinvara we really believe that “you know your skin best”. So with that in mind we suggest that you play around with the amount of serum you need to determine if you need more than 1-2 pumps or whether layering some of our award winning Active Rosehip Day Cream OVER your serum would work best for you, because if its night time you might go with extra serum but if you're heading out and maybe have some make-up on you might like to get that extra top-up of moisturization from our priming moisturizer. Good to know is that is that creams always follow serums -in general you should always apply lighter face products first.

Our dermatologically tested face serum contains no synthetic colours or fragrances and is both vegan friendly and dairy free, but it does contain nuts from the sweet almond oil and should be avoided by those with a nut allergy. We always recommend patch testing prior to first full use and to discontinue use if any redness or irritation develops.

CoQ10, Retinol or Vitamin C based serum are serums based on a named ingredient, in these examples, those ingredients are coEnzyme Q10, Retinol and Vitamin C. Kinvara 24HR Rosehip Face Serum is a concentrated, complex of over a dozen active plant extracts blended together to help you get your skin into great condition, specifically helping to calm redness and enhance hydration. Without knowing the other formulations or indeed the % of these ingredients used we can only comment on the primary function of the extract used in their marketing. For example, CoQ10 plays a role in the production of cellular energy and reduces oxidative damage caused by UV rays, Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A that helps boost collagen production and aid in cell turnover, while Vitamin C is an antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals. However, formulas only work when the right ingredients are used at the right concentrations and a name in a title doesn’t tell us how much of an ingredient is in a product, for that you need to read the ingredient list where ingredients are listed in decreasing order such that the first ingredient listed is present in the greatest quantity and the last ingredient listed is the smallest percentage in the formula. In addition, don’t let the natural plant names used in natural products deceive you into thinking that they are any less effective than more chemical sounding ingredients used in non-natural brands. For example, rosehip is itself a source of both Vitamin C and Vitamin A which is a natural trans-retinoic acid. This is just 1 example out of the dozen plant extracts used in 24HR Rosehip face serum and all these extracts contain components that have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and good-for-skin properties, thats why they’re in the formula. Plants are powerful and are the basis for most pharmaceutical discoveries. Plants work and are well tolerated by your body. Nature is, after all, running the longest clinical trials in history.
